Krita is a professional FREE and open source painting program. It is made by artists that want to see affordable art tools for everyone. The Krita project was started by the KDE community in 1998. Krita is still part of the KDE community: all Krita contributors are KDE community members! KDE is an international community working together to create free and open source software for users all over the world.
To support and further the development and use of Krita in any way imaginable, in 2012 the Krita community created the Krita Foundation. The Krita Foundation is an independent non-profit, public organization with the following goals:
